Listening to this one, my mind went back to 9th of February, 2019 when I had been to Chennai to witness a football match between Bengaluru FC and Chennaiyin FC which sadly BFC lost.:( I along with a friend was wandering nearby Marina beach looking for a public bathroom/washroom to have a bath after some good time at the sea. We hardly knew Tamil though we both understood a bit of the language, thanks to Tamil cinemas hence finding it very tough to communicate our demands to people there. Then a man, perhaps in his 50s called us and spoke to us in Kannada (He said that he picked up Kannada a decade back while he was working in Bengaluru) with warmth and fondness giving us the idea to go to a swimming pool nearby. That was a beautiful and warm experience I had in Chennai and it changed my perception of the city as well as people there which was negative hitherto that day. Thanks to your narration which took me back to memory lane.
