Premchand's 'Din Aur Insaaniyat'

Munshi Premchand is considered the first Hindi author whose writings prominently featured realism, and lived in the subcontinent a century ago. He is one of the most celebrated writers of the Indian subcontinent. His novels describe the problems of the poor and the urban middle class. His works depict a rationalistic outlook, which views religious values as something that allows powerful hypocrites to exploit the weak. He used literature for the purpose of arousing public awareness about national and social issues and often wrote about topics related to corruption, child widowhood, prostitution, the feudal system, poverty, colonialism and on India's freedom movement.

Apoorvanand recently wrote a book ‘Yah Premchand Hai’ — This is Premchand. I previously recorded a recital of a previous chapter from his book when I found myself dumbfounded by the relevance of the text. I’m here again after another surprise. Do listen and share. Thanks.
